General
The title is a pun on “sick days,” a common phrase referring to an authorized work leave because of an illness.
The title card is similar to “Life Insurance,” as they both have a similar background.
The plot is very similar to “Squiditis,” as both episodes have to do with Squidward faking an illness. He also gets some time out of work in that episode and is subsequently subjected to SpongeBob in that episode.
Both episodes also premiered in April.
They also both used “SpongeBob Theme II” as title card music.
A clip of this episode was released on Nickelodeon’s Instagram page on April 12, 2021.[2]
Handsome Squidward from “The Two Faces of Squidward” returns in this episode.
Handsome Squidward having long blonde hair is probably a callback to “The Original Fry Cook,” where Squidward had long blonde hair in the past.
Handsome Squidward in the episode.

Squidward making up names of illnesses and them turning out to be real is similar to when Mr. Krabs came up with the “hydrodynamic spatula, with port-and-starboard attachments, and a turbo drive” for a spatula for SpongeBob to buy and it ending up being real in “Help Wanted.”
A part of SpongeBob Theme II that only plays in Comic Con 2015, plays here, meaning all parts of the song have played in an episode.
