It is a beautiful nocker
I like the door!! The reason is color is different is the paint on the door original has been on the door for many years. I loved to gold paint on the knocker. You can finally see it!!
It's lovely. Just like panting over metal hardware… I think whomever painted the inside frame of the bricks white was an unfortunate choice. I'd want to sand blast the paint off the bricks or paint the brick closer to it's natural color.
Love the bright red
It’s very auspicious
Knocker is an A+
Beautiful job
Great job. The red looks good but if it’s too bright perhaps try a cranberry red color. Again, great job Joel.
Congratulations on a job well done. Personally I absolutely love that bright red. It will probably mellow with age and not be quite so shockingly bright. What a beautiful welcoming sight to come home to
We painted our front door a slightly darker, crimson red called Cherry Cola. I LOVE it! When we bought our house I knew I wanted a red door. In older American tradition, a red door meant welcome to weary travellers.
Love the video. How satisfying is using a heat gun to take off paint?! One of my favorite tools when refinishing furniture. The door looks great you did a fab job on it!
Love the brighter red. Makes it look less stodgy and worn but you can still tell it’s an older original door.
I'm an antique dealer. I believe the knocker is original. It's probably worth somewhere between $150 to $200 . It's fantastic!
I love the door knocker!
You should have used a grey undercoat.
Red is my absolute favorite entry door color. The knocker is stunning. When you first showed it to us, I thought it looked like Mercury. Restoring it so beautifully revealed spectacular details and it truly enhances the door. What a very successful DIY…one to really crow about. Btw, you look fantastic in purple. Superb video, worth the length.

Great work!!
I love a red door. Keep the red.
In America we call that Fire Engine red. I love it! The knocker is AMAZING!!! Maybe you could get it sand-blasted next time to reveal the original brass.
joel i love the red door please keep it !!
