Marvel’s ETERNALS will premiere on November 5, and ahead of the release, Marvel Studios has confirmed in the latest Eternals trailer called “Introducing the Eternals” that Phastos’ son reads Superman comics, confusing the Eternal Ikaris for Superman, making this one of the only times that the MCU has ever referenced the existence of DC characters in their universe. Erik Voss explains what this means in terms of canonicity in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and how this explains the subtle ways the Eternals movie changes the nature and history of the MCU.
